LOVE ESSENTIAL IN CHRIST
I John 3:11-24 explains
how we must have LOVE for others. Verse 14 tells us, 'We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we LOVE the
brethren. He that loveth NOT his brother, abideth in death.'
THE
TWO GREAT COMMANDMENTS of JESUS - Matthew 22:37-40
In The New Living Translation Jesus said, "You
must LOVE the Lord your God with ALL your HEART, ALL your SOUL, and ALL your MIND. This is the first and greatest commandment.
A second is equally important: 'LOVE your NEIGHBOR as yourself.' All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets
are based on these two commandments."
Only the LOVE of CHRIST can fulfill these scriptures. Ephesians 3:17-20
says, 'That Christ may dwell in your HEARTS by FAITH; that ye, being rooted and grounded in LOVE, may be able to comprehend
with all saints what is the breath, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the LOVE of CHRIST, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the POWER that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages,
world without end. Amen.'
THE SEAL OF GOD
In our
walk with Christ, we can rest our minds from the fear of falling. Jude 1:24 says, 'Now unto HIM that is able to keep you from
falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of HIS GLORY with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Savior,
be GLORY and MAJESTY, dominion and POWER, both now and ever. Amen.'
II Corinthians 1:20-22 states, 'For all the
promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the GLORY OF GOD by us. Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ,
and hath anointed us, is GOD; Who hath also SEALED US, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.' KJV
In
The New Living Translation, verse 22, 'He has identified us as His own by placing the HOLY SPIRIT in our hearts as the first
installment of everything HE will give us.'
Ephesians 1:12-14, 'That we should be to the praise of His glory, who
first trusted in Christ. In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in
Whom also after that ye believed, ye WERE SEALED with that HOLY SPIRIT of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance
UNTIL the REDEMPTION of the PURCHASED possession, unto the praise of His glory.' KJV
